Do you often dine out? Have you ever had a night when you want to try new cuisine or new restaurant, but then struggle to decide which restaurant to go? Are you tired of always eating the old boring fast food, because you don’t bother to search up and read through the food review website?
Do you love taking photos whenever you dine out in a new restaurant, or you love capturing moments with friends when you guys share a wonderful dinner? And have you ever dream that there’s a chance you can also become a contributing food commenter, and earn some money by simply posting these daily moments on your social media account?
If you answer any of the question with a Yes, I would like to gladly introduce you our new brand idea of a social media application called Shueat, that aims to satisfy all of your needs at once.
In the past, when I wanted to look for a surrounding restaurant or planning where to go for lunch and dinner during weekend, I tends to look up onto two places- google map. Google map can help me to search for restaurants nearby my destination, but it’s just way too troublesome to click into each restaurant’s name and look at their menu and images review.
So I thought, why don’t I look up and pick a restaurant I am interested in by browsing a lots of food photos? I click into Instagram, hoping that it would give me some good recommendation – and then I was flooded by too many information! I found this delicate dish, but it was from a restaurant in Italy! And then there are whole lot of funny videos, cat and dog videos, picnic moments shared by my families…I get distracted and simply forget about my intention to search for a restaurant!
__I love cat and dog videos – but sometimes they stop me from finding the right restaurant that I need.

So I believe Shueat is a perfect app I ultimately need to make my food decision. Shueat can collect restaurant’s food photographs that people post on social media and make it into a food directory that help people to decide which restaurant to go to. Just as good as most other restaurant apps, Shueat would classify the restaurant according to their cuisine styles, price, and recommend the nearest restaurants around you according to you GPS location. But more than that, Shueat would be a visual-based platform that filter out unnecessary information and display only the photos of restaurant that’s nearby you or your destination. Our UI design would allow you check out the most attractive dishes at your surrounding restaurant at only one immediate glance!
Nowadays we all have at least more than one social media app in our mobile phones, we are tired of switching between different apps for different purpose. You might have all experience the following situation: Since I’ve got different friends on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and WeChat, if I want to share my dinner’s photo, I would have to post the same thing on all four platforms. How would I even bother to repeat the same thing on a restaurant app?
But what makes Shueat so outstanding? The answer is that Shueat would never need you to spend extra time and steps to click into it.
Once you downloaded Shueat, you may give permission to link your Shueat account with your existing social media account. Then, when you post a photo content on the linked account, attached with a hashtag called #ShueatShare. With this tag, Shueat would automatically also upload the same content on you Shueat account. This means that without any extra step, you are able to share your food photos to two social media at one time!
This is exactly the objective of Shueat – we want all users to get rid of those complex operations that required you to share content on different app, and make you feel that sharing food commentary is as naturally as breathing in your daily life. Plus, you don’t have to worry about uploading wrong photos, because shueat’s AI function will automatically filter photos that are not related to food.
More excitingly, we don’t take your photos for free- We pay for it! Whenever you share a photo, a food and restaurant rating, you are able to earn the Shueat reward points and exchange them for restaurant coupons, which can be used in restaurants that cooperate with Shueat. Sometimes, we would even have promotion period that allows cash refund reward, and restaurant discount that offer only to Shueat users! Isn’t it exciting to earn money from sharing your happy dinning moments?
So, let’s try Shueat together and enjoy the greatest dining experience. Say good bye to the difficulty of choosing your dinning spot and get prepare to earn while you spend. I believe you will be surprised by the convenience that Shueat brings to you, which will make you think “why Shueat didn’t appear earlier”.

As we all know, following the change in time, nowadays people can’t live without mobile phones and mobile app, and that’s why many businesses are using apps or digital media to promote themselves, with integration to gamification. Study shows that gamification app helps to stimulate the curiosity of users, help the development of brand or company products to get more returns (Khomych, A 2021). We could easily find businesses apps that employs gamification element, for instance, Blidz is a mobile social shopping app that features itself as “the first mobile shopping game that allows you to have fun while shopping anywhere”. (Blidz, 2021). So how exactly it works?

The Blidz app provide two major function, shopping and discount rewarding by game. Users receives bonus gift after each purchase, then the Blidz point can be spent on playing games including Mystery boxes, so users can obtain a chance of lottery with free items or real-money reward named as Blidz Coin whenever they go shopping. The reward mechanism that arouse and satisfy users’ desire can be explained by the theory that suggest gifting virtual items foster relationships and personal investment, displays the company’s altruistic expression and thus stimulate users’ motivation (Fu, Y.C. 2011) It is also important to make sure users gain award from games instead of giving out freely, because the process of completing distinct goals in games can represent achievements and success, which elevate users’ satisfaction when they receive the prize(Dannecker, L & Hahmann, M 2012). So, by allowing the customers to have fun winning prizes, Blidz app stimulate their desire to shop more often. Furthermore, since the rewarded virtual money could only be used in application, it encourages their loyalty to the Blidz.
Starbucks also had a gamified advertisement strategy since 2017. Moving the traditional loyalty card onto mobile app, every customer will get a reward when shopping at Starbucks in exchange for free products, displaying in a form of leveling up and progress bar. Level and progress bar both function as a goal setting tool, they make milestone and mark progression of the users’ past investment and achievement, that build users’ self-competence and self-efficacy (Richter, G & Raban, D.R.& Rafeali, S 2015). This app led to a 4.6% increase in quarterly revenue and a 25% increase in membership (Burmester, N 2021), proving how successful is gamification in businesses.

The trend of gamification is not limited to ‘lightweight’ service industry, but also arriving to some serious businesses such as e-banking. Considering the positive influence of gamification on users’ confidence, enjoyment, ease-of-use and loyalty, serious business application is also tempted to be gamified in order to increase users’ use of e-banking and their loyalty to the bank (Rodrigues, Luís Filipe, Oliveira, Abílio & Costa, Carlos J. 2016). A study provides an insight into an example of integration of games and business application ‘Futebank’. It develops a UI looks like football field, use football players to representing financial portfolio and mutual funds and make customer to play as a Team Manager avatar, allowing customers to manage financial investment in a fun way. Not to forget it also insert other gamified element such as leaderboards of customers with highest mutual fund portfolio score to increase social interaction. (Rodrigues, Luís Filipe, Oliveira, Abílio & Costa, Carlos J. 2016) In the future, we may be looking forward to seeing more of the daily application that we use for serious intention can be gamified.
In the coming decade, we are expecting to see more application of gamification in the field of businesses. While some businesses even considered to use gamification within work environment and stimulate employee’s motivation and competition, yet there is also worry about some suggestion such as using game to dismiss less capable workers is unethical. We need to be careful about application of gamification, for instance, using gamification conceal the act of performance monitoring is unethical. (Korn, Oliver & Schmidt, Albrecht 2015)

Studying used to be a long, tough and boring time that all students may have experienced. We always imagine what could make studying more interesting and motivating – and this problem is now solved as gamification can be used not only in business, but also in other fields, such as education (Lu, H.P & Ho, H.C 2020 P.1).
There are also many apps in the field of education that have added gamification elements. For example, an education-based app called Duolingou can get rewards by completing various learning tasks. In the progress of studying language, when a certain number of tasks are completed and a certain number of friends pay attention to it, this app gifts the users reward badge, and determine users’ position on the scoreboard according to their progress of learning. Badges and tokens as been a popular gamification element that has a role of advertising users’ achievement, accomplishment and win them reputation (Richter, G &Raban, D.R.&Rafaeli, S 2015). It’s said that these human intrinsic needs leverage the user’s motivation of collecting (Richter, G &Raban, D.R.&Rafaeli, S 2015), and in this case this is achieve by participating more language studying. Social interaction further enhances the motivation aspects of badges as users are keener in presenting their success to the others. Duolingou encourage users to interact with their friends and cooperate by inviting them to join the app, which can stimulate user’s competiveness and amplify the function of badges (Khomych, A 2021).
The other is Google’s learning app “read along”, which uses Google’s voice technology to encourage primary school students to read stories. It also includes a reading assistant Diya, which can detect and help students when they are reading. Diya can also show students how to pronounce a word or read a sentence when they are confused. Students can also get prizes through word games in app, and improve their reading and writing skills (Burmester, N 2021). The design of employing a voice assistant may be intending to fulfil to users’ need of accompaniment and socialization, which is similar to how users often find multiplayer games more attractive. Existence of Diya gives warmhearted support for the young student to continue their reading tasks.
A very famous website Kahoot also uses Gamification. This website can help schools save investment resources, and there is no need to train the classroom how to use it. Kahoot provides teachers with a website with shared links to quickly create multiple-choice tests. Students can log in by computer or mobile phone (Burmester, N 2021). As long as they input the code provided by the teacher, they can synchronize with the teacher. In this way, students can use electronic devices to achieve learning objectives and input the answers to classroom questions in real time. The correct questions also show the corresponding scores, and so on until the questions are answered, and finally, the top three students with the total score and the highest score can be seen (Burmester, N 2021). This way can stimulate students’ enthusiasm and participation in class, not only use textbooks to learn, but also increase the fun of students’ learning. Education and games are closely related (Korn, O &Schmidt, A 2015 P. 3426), many school teachers will add game elements to their education methods, so that students can quickly and firmly absorb knowledge. Let students feel that learning is no longer boring, but interesting. Learning in a relaxed and happy way is good for both teachers and students. There are many advantages in applying Gamification to education, for example, it can help students find motivation in learning, help students focus and improve participation, and let students acquire more knowledge in a comfortable learning environment (True education, 2021). There will be a day in future that we students will no longer need to endure classes and studying, yet instead yearning to do more when they find studying has so much fun.
